“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein
Welcome to snichols32.wordpress.com. I am a freshman at the Georgia Institute of Technology where I am studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I am enrolled in English 1101 where we will discuss how language is used within the scientific community to convey ideas, theories, and facts. In a day in age where technology allows cross-continental communication to occur in milliseconds, the need to understand how language is used has become more prevalent. Not only must a modern day scientist be at the forefront of their field, but also they must be able to articulate their finding in papers to be published in scientific journals. On this site, one will find blogs, papers, and videos discussing how Science Professionals use literary techniques, rhetoric, and linguistics to convey their findings, ideas, and beliefs. I will also constantly update a Works In Progress page to show the papers I am working on and reflect on papers I have already written. I hope that one may come to my website, read my papers, and leave feeling more informed. Please feel free to comment on any of my pages, posts, and works in progress. Thank you for visiting my website, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
